Founded in 2009 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, by Matthew Metzger, Orange Computer has been selling laptop and desktop computers and offering computer repair and upgrade services for over ten years.
For many years we had a storefront in downtown La Crosse. In 2017, we changed our business model and began working from home instead of a commercial storefront. At the end of 2020, we moved to the rural Viroqua, Wisconsin area and now work by appointment, with meeting places in La Crosse and Viroqua. We can also do service calls to homes and business locations upon request.
Computer Sales
Orange Computer became known for selling quality refurbished ThinkPad brand laptaps. Now, we also sell HP, Dell and occasionally other brands of computers, though still specializing in the business class product lines.
All of the refurbished computers we sell have been upgraded with Solid State Drives (SSDs) and come with a 1 year hardware warranty.
Upgrades
We know what upgrades make the most difference. Most often the best upgrade is going from a hard disk drive (HDD) to a Solid State Drive (SSD). SSDs are often ten times faster than HDDs and are the best performance boost for a computer that currently has a HDD. Upgrading memory (RAM) can also make a difference, depending on how the computer is used.
We can check out and test your computer, then make recommendations and give a quote for upgrades.
Repair
If your Windows installation breaks after an update or the hard drive crashes, we can figure out what’s wrong and fix it. Also offer malware and virus removal service. Contact Matthew to schedule an appointment for testing.
